Born in 1938 in the Cherkasy region in Ukraine, Vasyl Perevalskyi is a celebrated graphic artist whose works have left an indelible mark on Ukrainian visual culture. He graduated from the Kyiv State Art Institute, where he studied under the guidance of V. Kasian and further honed his craft in the creative studio of M. Derehus.

Perevalskyi collaborated with leading Ukrainian publishing houses, contributing to book design and illustration projects that would become iconic in the field. He served as an art editor at the «Mystetstvo». Since 2003, he has been a professor at the National Academy of Fine Art and Architecture.
